The Problem

Cornwall Council ordered 940 Pakflatt V/4 over the following three years at the rate of around 315 per annum, so that they would be ready for the next General Election in 2020. Unexpectedly, the PM, Mrs Theresa May, called a snap General Election that would take place on June 8th, some six weeks away. Pakflatt was contacted by the Procurement Division to ask if they could have all 940 booths in time.

The Solution

Pakflatt rose to the challenge and provided a detailed Concierge Program to the council, setting out how all critical aspects of the contract would be managed, including the 40’ HC containers being shipped overnight from Derry to St. Austell, Cornwall.

In a frenetic period of five weeks, the 940 booths were successfully manufactured, loaded and shipped and the contract was completed four full days ahead of schedule, much to the delight of the Returning Officer.

In a post-election review it was reported that almost all of the booths were used on the day with not one report of problems.

Fast tracking this substantial order during a busy period on top of our normal workload and international commitments, is testimony to the dedication and capability of Pakflatt’s highly experienced work force and our ability to fulfill challenging deadlines without compromise.
