The Fortress Lander

The Problem

When our US Distributor, Inclusion Solutions were approached by San Diego based Everyonecounts [E1C] their interest was in investigating whether we could create a bespoke product for them from our now very popular Fortress® Ballot Box range.

The Solution

E1C were developing their ELECT® QUAD AUDIT™ voting system which was one of a new generation of COTS [commercial off the shelf] voting systems. The system uses commonly available hardware platforms [COTS] such as tablets and android devices and E1C writes the election software to suit the platform. Two of the commodity items they were using were a Kodak 700 Series Scanner and an Eton uninterruptable power supply [UPS] that they needed brought together in a pedestal. We developed a Fortress® product specially for them and because it resembled a space module, we called it the Fortress® Lander. The complete system is currently in the process of Federal Certification for use in national elections in the United States.
