UK MARKET

The Cruciform Voting Booth

THE PROBLEM

In the UK over 25 years ago, the voting booths used in elections by local authorities were bulky, primitive and difficult to transport. They were also not user friendly, particularly for voters with disabilities.

Pakflatt® designed an elegant aluminium booth which packed flat into a carton that fitted into a car boot and was easily lifted and erected by a single person. It was compact and lightweight but extremely durable for multiple outings over many years. It had four compartments for voters with easy adjustment of shelf height for voters in wheelchairs. The system was developed to include privacy curtains, task lights and accessory packs. This booth has become the market leader and has been customised for the specific needs of different countries such as USA and Sweden.
